Service Description

This class will focus on hand percussion, primarily the West African Djemebe drum. Students will learn the fundamentals of hand technique as well as traditional West African rhythms. Students will learn to play in a group as well as improvising on their own with the group supporting them. Along with learning to drum, playing music in a group brings students together and creates meaningful group connections. This class can be modified to fit groups of children as well as adults (of all abilities and disabilities). No prior musical experience needed.
